Poems: Half an Adult

If the truth be told, at nine years old,
It feels like you've grown up too fast.
You're a little too helpful, a bit too much fun,
And embarrrassingly fast when we're out for a run.

And it seems to appear, that on this your ninth year,
You've grown faster than we could've imagined.
You're halfway to being called an adult,
So keep making the most of all that you're taught.

And lastly to say, after nine years together,
I'd have thought that I'd know you completely.
But every new day, brings new insights,
To what God's doing in you;
                                  You are out delight.
