Stories: A grubby schoolboy

Every day a young boy goes to school grubby, filthy and covered in dirt. And every day the teachers were appalled that a child would come to school in this way, that his mother would let him leave the house looking the way he did.

As they discussed this in the staff room one day a teacher conjectured that it was because the mother didn't love the child. But then another simply replied, "She does love the child, she just doesn't hate dirt."

We may say that we love God. But until we hate dirt and tear down the high places in our lives there will be no lasting change. Would we align our likes to His likes, our desires to Christ's desires and would we come to despise what Christ despises.
